My only regret," he told an aide, "was that I didn't throw him out myself

I love that!

Don't you just know Giuliani would be at the bottom of this list if you he was a senator instead of a cruddy former mayor?

Me too. Rudy is fearless. I have an article somewhere where he took on the envirowackjobs too.

He cut taxes at a time NYC had the highest taxes of any city in the world. Yes, the world. He took heat for that, as you can imagine, but it worked for the city's economy.

It's in one of those articles I linked, I think the FrontPage magazine article.

What, was Larry King the only interviewer Rudy could find with more wives than him?

A lame attempt at humor? You really should do your research - the facts are hillarious

Hi, Jake -

I'm happy to hear that report. We're calling tomorrow to get tickets to go see him in SC during the debates in May.

You're going to get to see him at the Citadel in May when he gives a speech there, as I recall.

He's a terrific leader and I think could be the best president we've ever had.

I know he is all those things....except for the tax thing, he leans Libertarian....and what do you mean he used to support the WOT.....he still does and I heard him last week or so exclaiming same.....I just think those on FR that make definitive labels are being too narrow.....I agree Rudy is not conservative on many issues, but I include him as a big tent Republican....due to his other attributes in taxes, law and order, WOT etc.....I'd rather have a Duncan Hunter but I'm also pragmatic

You know what I like - he is willing to say "this is what I believe - like it or not - it's who I am and it's what I believe".

That takes political and personal guts.

You are correct - I will see him at The Citadel - I suspect he will use that forum to lay out his foreign policy.

Reagan did, Bush did, many have.

Why do you make fun of Mr. Hunter on every thread? I don't support Rudy but I post respectfully about him .

We FReepers have called Algore an environmental wacko for his pro-global warming position around this forum for YEARS. Rudy and Arnold are on the same liberal page when it comes to global warming. They're two kooks. That might help Rudy with liberals. It won't help him with conservatives, however.

That's true. He's a very likable man, without commenting on any of his positions.

What I am excited about is when we all see Rudy speak at length, off the cuff, and in the debates.

You sound like you're working up to some kind of Jim Jones infatuation.

You're right - it would take guts to make that speech at Bob Jones - I now live in Greenville - Bob Jones University is a beautiful place.

For some it's a little "old school" - but how can anyone attack them - they are just straight laced and proud of it.

Better than Cal Berkeley - I can tell you that.

Rudy mentioned the one quality that for me is one of the MOST important for any President -- Executive ability. The President has to make decisions and lead an organization. GWB was a CEO and a Governor. His father headed the CIA. Carter, Reagan and Clinton were all Governors. Rudy ran the largest city in the country.

All that most of Rudy's opponents - McCain, Hunter, Brownback, Tancredo, Hillary, Obama, Edwards - have ever run are their mouths. We have no evidence they could run a lemonade stand; let alone the Government.

At least Romney and Gingrich and Richardson have demonstated leadership and held leadership positions as Governor or Speaker -- though the latter is for me less impressive than being a Governor.
