Gingrich's numbers: 14% to 12% to 16% to 13% to 10%. I guess Newt peaked on 1/29. ;-) Seriously, Newt would be a force in the Republican primaries if he gets in. My concern with Newt is how he would do in the general election. I'm afraid that he couldn't win regardless of who the Democrats run.

I think that Newt is politically astute and realizes that he couldn't win and therefore won't run. He would be an excellent chief of staff where he could influence policy without having to face the electorate.
