We all KNOW that Duncan Hunter has little name recognition at this point on the national scene. But name recognition doesn't translate into base support. Otherwise McCain wouldn't be flopping here on FR and in that poll you just linked. Having the support of the base, however, does translate into name recognition downline if there is enough time before the primaries. I think there's enough time. Duncan Hunter is the most formidable candidate running today, and the dems know it and so do the frontrunners. Otherwise, why is there so much naysaying over someone who's just got 1%? I certainly don't spend much time thinking about any other 1%ers because none of them are a threat.
Like Titans AFC wrote, it's "Too early, and too many polls interested in counting Party "leaners" for primary elections - percentage wise, by far, the smallest contributors to primaries."
Yes, it's very telling how much they seem to panic and try to convince Hunter supporters how he has 'no chance'. If he doesn't I would think they'd be more than pleased he's a 'long shot'. Why waste their time on these threads? They know the more people that get his name in their head and learn about him and then see him in person, the more support he continues to gain.
