It's early. If you were around for the Harriet Miers wars, you'll remember that many of her supporters thought it was a pipe dream that someone like Alito could get confirmed. If you like another candidate better, that's one thing. But if your only problem with Hunter is that you don't think he can win, I'd say that the race shouldn't be conceded before it's even begun.
I thought this article made an interesting point about Hunter's support for the border fence -- that he believes it's important on humanitarian grounds, as well (he pushed for the first section to be complete before the hot months, in the area where the most people die of dehydration).
