If you're looking for someone who can represent the conservative wing of the Republican Party in 2008, California Congressman Duncan Hunter fills that bill far better that any of the top contenders who have already gotten into the race. Here's a short, but sweet primer that may help explain why that's the case.

Since the Clinton Administration stepped out of the White House, I have worked with the current administration to more than double the precision firepower of the U.S. military. Let any would-be-terrorist or wrong thinking nation know: if you believe media reports that the U.S. military is unable to handle another threat along with Iraq and Afghanistan, dont bet your life on it, because youll lose.
Lots of security challenges remain for our nation. Iran appears committed to the development of a nuclear weapon and North Korea already has some and is racing to build missile delivery systems. China is emerging as a military super-power, stepping into the shoes of the former Soviet Union.
We must continue to develop broad military capability for the U.S.
We must be able to fight conventionally as well as prosecuting the war against terror with an emphasis on intelligence and special operations.
We must remain strong and build new strengths in space and cyber-space.

What is the difference between a RINO president and a 'Rat president? NOTHING! A RINO is worse because he disables the entire Republican Party.

The other title of our President is "Chief Executive."
When Duncan Hunter runs a state, or a major American city, I will certainly give him a look.
Up till now...he is just a career member of Congress.
Unless he has proven himself as an "Executive," I think we need to move on.

Middle America is going to like what they see. They sure will when, and if, they see it. If it weren't for FR, I wouldn't know of Duncan Hunter.

If it weren't for FR, you'd be watching Dan Rather tell us that Hunter wasn't electable and that Rudy is a conservative culture warrior.

There was an article published of the February 10 edition in WORLD magazine. You can read it by going to their website at:
http://www.worldmag.com
Frankly, Jamie Dean's writing on the story left much to be desired in her over-attention to details involving the Red Hat Society wardrobes and acessorizing, as well as her vivid descriptions of trash in the back seat of their vehicle.
Other than these annoying details, Mr. Hunter's interview was engaging and informative.
Unless another candidate enters the race with a strongly conservative platform, Mr. Hunter has my support. Mike Huckabee has announced his run for the White House, but I do not agree with his stand on immigration and the guest worker program, among other issues.

Feel free to http://www.moveon.org/, but I'm standing behind Duncan Hunter. He's the only true conservative in the race.

I agree, and hope your helping to spread the word.
Here's part of an email I received from the Hunter campange the other day:
The campaign has begun in earnest and we are excited about your enthusiasm. Our website is being overhauled in order to allow for increasing interaction with the Hunter for President campaign. You will be able to order T-Shirts, bumper stickers and banners, find online polls and Blogs on Duncan, find out when Duncan will be in your state, start your own virtual campaign to raise money, listen to weekly messages from Duncan, and much, much more. Our goal is to create an online medium where you can stay connected with each other and create a grassroots campaign that takes the country by storm! In the next 2 weeks you will receive a package from the Hunter for President campaign that is a 'thank you' from us for volunteering your time and energy to get Duncan Hunter elected to the presidency. It is up to us to us to make Duncan Hunter a household name. Via the website we will give you the tools to do that. We will arm you with the ideas and principles of Duncan Hunter so that you can go out and spread the word that there is a great, electable candidate for the United States Presidency who requires no compromise of conservative values. The message of Pro-Border Fence, Pro-Fair Trade, Pro-Life, Pro-Military will resonate with the people of our great nation.

Unless he has proven himself as an "Executive," I think we need to move on. OK, I'm willing to listen. Who should I "move on" to that supports conservative values? I found Hunter while looking for a real candidate, I'm willing to look further if there's a better one out there.
Please, no RINO's or filp-floppers.

You gotta start somewhere. Duncan is polling 90% on FR http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1782311/posts and has gathered more endorsements from Congress than anyone else. 100 lawmakers give '08 endorsements http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1784031/posts Take note, presidential prognosticators: Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani (R) may have earned a rousing reception at the California GOP convention last weekend, but Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) has more public supporters in Congress.

If your not Pro-Life you don't get my vote. If you aren't articulate enough to convince people that killing an innocent baby even before its born - is bad, you shouldn't be President.
Hunter sounds like a great President to me.

In the online GOPBlogers poll, he has climbd from 1% to 7% in a month. He's closing in on the big 4 and it's still early.
