I blame the bickering and the near break-up of the Republican party on the side that supports Rudy over a true Conservative. The Republican Party is the party of,

  1. Pro-Family(anti-Abortion)
  2. Pro-Gun ownership(pro-2nd amendment)
  3. Pro-Military
  4. Pro-Traditional-marriage(see item 1)
  5. Anti-Gay-Marriage(see item 1)
Just to name a few.

So when a few so called Republicans, choose to back a Liberal like Rudy you have to wonder if they intentionally want to see the Republican party break-up(Libs in disguise), or if they truly believe The Republican party is the party of Liberals.

Why else would these same Rudy supporters not invest their time and energy in getting a true Conservative like Hunter elected? It makes zero sense. Rudy is 90 percent Liberal and maybe 10 percent Conservative.

We always hear this crap about how we need to stop being the single issue voters, hell it's a lot more then a single Issue versus Rudy, It's the whole friggin ball of wax.

I'm inclined to agree, but the methods some are using are not going to solve any issues.

I blame the near break-up on folks that think conservatism is all about a few cultural and religious issues. I think the founders of conservatism, who largely came from the northeast and the west (Buckley, Goldwater, etc) would disagree with that. Political conservatism to me is about: 1) Economic growth (taxes, trade, etc) 2) Limited Government (balanced budget, cut spending) 3) Strong defense (peace thru superior firepower) 4) Federalism and constitutionalism (conservative judges, 2nd Amdt, etc)

Okay so I am Pro family, having a great love for my family and anti abortion, but the Supreme Court ruled that the woman has the right to chooose, so that's the law of the land.

Pro Gun - yes am that
Pro Military - yes definitely
Pro Traditional Marriage. Yes, men and women should marry. But I do not have a problem non traditional households. I would rather a child have two parents who love and adore him or her rather than a family that does not care about the kid, neglects and/or beats the kid. I have seen two households headed by women and the kids were great.

I am not anti gay marriage.

While I would not want to see the whole party break up, I do think there is room for thought and debate on all your issues (even though 4 and 5 are really the same) and I think freepers should be able to debate them openly. Maybe there is no such thing as a totally REPUBLICAN person or a totally DEMOCRAT person. I have democrat friends of mine complainig about illegal aliens and personal responsibility. And admiring Chuck Hagel!

The President is not in charge of the national sex life.

"Why else would these same Rudy supporters not invest their time and energy in getting a true Conservative like Hunter elected? It makes zero sense. Rudy is 90 percent Liberal and maybe 10 percent Conservative." Two lies for the price of one.

Hunter has ZERO chance of getting elected though almost everyone supportive of Guiliani says they would vote for Hunter should a miracle happen and he win the nomination.

What makes "zero sense" is flacking someone with NO chance of getting the nomination much less the election.

Rudy is a moderate conservative NOT a liberal. He will be endorsed by Hunter after he drops out before six months pass. Then what will you say?
