Seems to me it is a bit too early to be making that claim.

History is certainly on my side when it comes to the candidates currently sitting in the House minority.

And Newt is only going to run if there is vast dissatisfaction with the main contenders.

Is Romney to Giuliani's right? Nobody knows. McCain is a flake and has never been the darling of social conservatives (or conservatives in general) at all.

I know there's a sizeable (or at least vocal) minority here who think Duncan Hunter is a legitimate contender. I don't think so, but it's theoretically possible.

I've always advocated voting for your favorite in the primary, regardless of how likely he or she is to win. That's how parties get shaped.

Remember, most of these folks were Harriet Miers defenders who ANGRILY tried to shout down her detractors on the right - like at FR. I will never forget their names, whether it's Michael Medved or anyone else.

All they ever asked was for her to get an opportunity to speak for herself, while those who wanted to shut her nomination down, resorted to childish namecalling. She's the primary reason John Roberts is where he's at today.

The conservative movement is already on its last legs. The GOP can either be ideologues or pragmatists. I chose pragmatism.

Law and order are to me the most important things in society.

Who's laws?

Electing Hillary is not defeating rudy

Electing Rudy is not defeating Liberals.

It is as I was trying to say before, if you have to become the mirror image of your enemy to defeat him, how have you won when all is said and done? In the case of Rudy, from what I have seen on the many threads, the "single issue" voters are the one that pick him for his stand on one single issue - the War on Terror.

Is that what you do? Tell people with whom you disagree that they are liberals?

STOP IT!!! WE'RE BETTER THAN THAT!

Wish it were true. Look at the posts of some of the people here. They haven't got a clue what intelligent debate or discussion is. Anyone that disagrees with their dogma is immediately branded something derogatory and sprayed with ignorant vile. I get sick of these turds. For the record, I respect Olsen and Giuliani. They are both better men than many here. I won't vote for rudy because I disagree with too many of his views and I'm disappointed that olsen is supporting him.

Thanks for the reminder! I've followed Rudy since he was a District Attorney and he was no shrinking violet. I'd like to see a similar list of achievements for each candidate.

I saw it and am having trouble reading some of the things that are being said and implied about the logical decision Ted Olson has made, and the speculation about how Barbara would have felt about it. As one who knew Barbara and knows Ted I find this choice to be exactly right.

Can you then explain why you've supported on this forum that candidates need to return to true conservatism while clearly Rudy isn't?

He was mayor of new York. The city can ban any dangerous weapons it wants to.

Only when he is not grabbing guns or dressing in drag. Isn't it sad to see Olsen joining the 90% of the GOP our friends, the Implacables, call RINOs?

This is exactly the same kind of stupid nonsense liberals who support "abortion rights" have been spewing out at pro-lifers for years.

You "holier-than-thou" posters around here spew just as much bile, excrement, and nonsense. It's a tossup who's destroying FR.

many of us actually believed this was a forum for conservatives. Some of us gave money in that belief. It's very disheartening.

Many still do, many of them are and always will be conservatives, who aren't wrapped up in their own self-righteous indignation and childish accusations all the time.

Rudy was chosen by Ronald Reagan in 1981 as an Associate Attorney General placing him in the third highest position in the Reagan's DOJ. - In 1983, Rudy was appointed by Reagan to be U.S. Attorney for the SD of NY

Reagan was just a leftist sellout crossdressing babykiller?

There is also his competence. He cleaned up NY in more ways then one. With the ball being punted on the border...tax reform...vouchers...runaway spending...entitlement reform. Voters are looking for a president has a track record to take on these issues.

Theodore Olson's endorsment is huge.

You also will have to "force feed" about 100 million other Americans. Duncan is going nowhere and it is remarkable to watch the Pretenders maintain he is. When he drops out within the next six months and endorses Rudy how much abuse will you unlease on your former hero?
