"Dreier, the ranking member on the Rules Committee, is chairman of the states GOP delegation and his extensive ties to Californias lucrative business community make him one of his partys leading fundraisers. He also is extremely close to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R)."
Ah yes. Anything Rudy did in the past that makes him look good is relevant. Anything he did that makes him look bad is irrelevant. Of course.
That "opinion" is not merely an opinion but is a calculated FALSE charge used in an attempt to undermine Guiliani's chances. Anyone with any knowledge of his career knows that the liberal media has consistently opposed his law and order hardnosed approach to solving the problems of NYC. They also know that he refused to kiss the asses of those the PC consider untouchable such as Terrorist leaders, Al Sharpton and the other whackjobs promoted by the Media.
Just because someone's NAME is known does not mean he is a product of or protege of the media. Guiliani's fame is of his own making often despite the media. False charges to the contrary are merely poor attempts to excuse the failure of lesser known candidates to capture any public attention.
I would suggest you check who I referenced. It was not Flynt.
This is not exactly a big secret in Southern California. A little searching and you can find his male "partner".
Would you be so kind as to remove post #29?
My soundness in judgement has once again eluded me.
Thanks.
You're right - my mistake.
Apology to areafiftyone, that was unnecessary.
Now, Rogers a former development director for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force has given Dreier the Roy Cohn Award, in recognition of 24 years of working against gay and lesbian rights while living as a gay man yourself. He is pummeling Dreier with almost daily revelations as a response to the GOPs anti-gay crusade for a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages.
Rogers campaign against Dreier got a major boost when it was taken up by Raw Story, the hot new liberal gadfly newsblog. Raw Story which is edited out of Cambridge, Massachusetts, by 23-year-old John Byrne, who is also gay last week published an interview with Dreiers Democratic opponent in 1998 and 2000, Dr. Janice Nelson, who said she was aware during her 2000 campaign that Dreier was living with his chief of staff, Brad Smith. Brad was like an invisible presence, she said. They really have the routine down slick.
Nelson, a professor of pathology, says she came forward when she read on Raw Story that Hustler the Larry Flynt magazine was working on an exposé of Dreiers secret gay life.
David is coming out for Rudy...
Thats okay! :-)
See #32. I don't trust the source, but I have heard that rumor about Drier before (probly from the same source. I can't remember).
Dreier has been rumored for years to be a closet homosexual.
There were even pictures published this past year, prior to the 2006 elections. It seems to be common knowledge within that community.
Only McCain has a chance to stop him. And McCain is as popular as Vlad the Impaler around here.
Well rumors don't necessarily make that true. You really need proof. Now if you had proof then I would believe it. But it's hard to accuse someone from what Larry Flint says. Larry Flint is such a sleaze that it kinda makes it hard to believe.
That's what I'm thinking. Sessions is better known than Kyl, but since I'm an Arizona boy I gotta root for the favorite son.
Accusing people of lying for expressing an opinion is BS. There have been innumerable posts by Giuliani supporters with demonstrably false or intentionally misleading information. For example, you stated that Gingrich will not run. Do you have proof? Do you have some inside knowledge we are unaware of? Or are you intentionally posting calculated false information?
Hey, I didn't quote Larry Flynt, got it? That article I referenced was authored by Doug Ireland. Why don't you take it up with him?
When General Grant ran for the Presidency as a Republican critics could have tried to undermine him by claiming that he had voted for James Buchanan in 1856 rather than the Republican, Fremont. But such criticism falls to nothing in the face of the holocaust of war he went through. Rudy went through a similiar experience on 9/11 and his past positions count as very little against that.
Now the issue is "Who can successfully lead the War on Terrorists AND get elected?"
Dreier is a nice guy and a snappy dresser. Do we have to hash over his private life every time he's mentioned or can we just focus on his voting record?
