I am 53 and have been through a divorce and some of the financial fallout that can come with it, especially when you lose your job and still must make $3,400 child support payments.
There is no way I would pay one, or a hundred of these tickets. I know how these agencies work. The only tool they have is generating fear. I would not even open up one of these letters. It would go straight in the trash.
I've also learned that worse things can happen to you than a ding on your credit score, especially if you are not interested in using credit anyway. You can actually get away with refusing to pay a credit card debt of $2,000 or so and just ignore the notices. It just is not worth their resources. It won't help your credit score, but if you are not planing on buying a home in the next five years...
This is not from my experience, but from an acquaintence. You meet a lot of interesting characters in the divorce legal system and support groups...
I wonder if replacing the cameras ever week would outweigh the revenue they produce?
