This about sums up the modern Democrat(ic) Party.
John Howard is not an ally of George Bush. Australia is an ally of the United States. This distinction completely escapes the modern Democrat(ic), with profound results.
It is the end result of the idiotic notion that politics is personal, and that candidacies, parties, and ultimately nations can be reduced to the personality of one man. This theory found it's first great test when the Democrat(ic) Party completely submerged itself in Bill Clinton and his associated misasma. After eight years, the Democrat(ic) Party was nothing more than an appendage to Bill Clinton himself. Now the Democrat(ic)s are looking to re-live the experience by latching onto Hillary!.
Given that the Democrat(ic) Party has completely lost any independent identity to a single man, it is easy to see how Democrat(ic)s might assume that the rest of the World operates on a similar principle. Thus all Republicans are nothing more than mouthpieces for George W. Bush. Thus the United States is just a agent of George W. Bush's will. Similarly, Australia is a personal expression of their Prime Minister, John Howard.
One of the many hazards of this way of thinking, of course, is that given that the United States is nothing but George W. Bush's personal domain, when one opposes George W. Bush, one must also oppose the United States. Similarly, if one has an objection with John Howard, one must oppose Australia in general. There is no room for loving one's country while opposing the leader of that country, because in the modern Democrat(ic) view, the country and the leader are indistinguishable.
And, of course, this leads to the subsequent trap of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Thus the modern Democrat(ic) finds himself drawn to the enemies of President Bush, which are the enemies of the United States as well. So we see them reaching out to various bad actors around the World, like Hezbollah, or Castro or Hugo Chavez. We see them trying to rehablilitate nations like Iran or North Korea. We have the spectacle of an Imam calling for the enslavement of all Infidels in the United States and calling the United States an oppressor and occupier at a national meeting of the Democrat(ic) National Committee.
I predict that things are going to get worse before they get better. The Democrat(ic)s are going to continue down this road, until they are telling us that negotiating with Muqtada al-Sadr is in the national interest and that Osama bin Laden is really not all that bad. It is my fervent hope that at some point, they will take this nonsense too far, and there will be a wave of revulsion across the nation that sweeps the Democrat(ic)s from power and restores rational thinking to our political process.
What happened to my tagline--again???!!??
Absolutely was a favorite word during the Clinton administration. Every time I heard it I always thought they really meant the opposite, as in the absolute value of a negative number, which is positive.
Very informative post.

Barack Obama Attacks Australian and American Soldiers' Sacrifices
By Jackson Simpson
Feb 12, 2007
Barack Obama is off and running for president. The items covered first by the inexperienced senator from Illinois, attack one of America's great allies and their soldiers and attack the sacrifice of the soldiers from America that are laying their lives on the line in Iraq. First up, Australia. The sophomore senator sounded off like a sophomoric political hack.
Barack Obama Attacks Australian and American Soldiers' Sacrifices
His target was Australia's Prime Minister John Howard. "Howard had said that Senator Obama's call for U.S. troops to be withdrawn from Iraq by March 2008 would deliver a victory for terrorists and destabilize the entire Middle East." Howard said: "If I was running al-Qaeda in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008 and pray, as many times as possible, for a victory not only for Obama, but also for the Democrats."

Obama fired back like a kid on a playground. "I think it's flattering that one of George Bush's allies on the other side of the world started attacking me the day after I announced...I would also note that we have close to 140,000 troops in Iraq, and my understanding is Mr. Howard has deployed 1400, so if he is...to fight the good fight in Iraq, I would suggest that he calls up another 20,000 Australians and sends them to Iraq....Otherwise it's just a bunch of empty rhetoric."
Scott Johnson called it this way. 'Obama not only insulted our ally, he formulated the insult in the inelegant fashion of an intellectual thug.' That's close enough. Right out of the gate, Obama wants to belittle the Australian troops in Iraq.

Just so they wouldn't feel left out, Barack decided to belittle the American troops as well. The senator made this blunder during a speech at Iowa State University. On Sunday he criticized the war in Iraq as a conflict that had "wasted" more than 3,000 American soldiers' lives. Someone must have told Obama that was a poor choice as he did the quasi backtrack the very next day.
Speaking to a group of reporters in the kitchen of a Nashua, N.H., home after a gathering for Democratic party activists, Obama said he had misspoken in Iowa, adding that his opposition to the war was grounded in a desire for soldiers to return home safely to their families.
"I would absolutely apologize if any of them felt that in some ways it had diminished the enormous courage and sacrifice that they'd shown," Obama responded.

Slam the Australian troops, check. Slam the American troops, check.
I'd like to have a picture of Barak riding a tricycle. I already have one of Mr. Muggs.
If Condi was a Democrat the MSM would have her on 24/7
Ain't that the truth! You should have seen the looks I got with my Bush '04 bumper stickers, I almost caused a few car wrecks. "Wha', a black lady with a Republican sticker?!?!"
Do you mean you aren't falling for everything the Dims have been promising the Blacks forever?
Dennis Prager has the neatest article on his website "Why Jews and Blacks Vote Democrat" I have to go back and read it sometime, his logic is amazing.
Man, I am wild about that guy! If I weren't married and about 20 years younger and he wasn't an Orthodox Jew who smokes a cigar I would really be interested.
Please thank your husband for his service for us.

I'm going to read the article. He looks a little long in the tooth, but if he gave up his stinky habit, he might be a keeper. I will thank my hubby when I see him. ;-)
