It will end Free Republic. The strength of this place was and is that it is not an echo chamber. If it merely becomes a sounding board for Hunter '08, then an essential element of dynamism will be lost.

I am pretty irritated that there are those who are running around with schoolyard threats as well: basically suggesting that if one doesn't agree with JimRob politically, that one is necessarily going to be banned. That's the last resort of a tired mind.

They don't know how to disagree with someone and still respect them. That's the problem. I disagree with JR's stance on Rudy but I still respect him. I don't agree with them on Duncan Hunter but I still respect them enough not to go on their threads about Duncan or their anti-Rudy flamebait threads and tell them what I feel even though they often ping me to them. I let them enjoy their threads because I respect their feelings. They have no respect.

It is first and foremost a conservative website. Rudy is no conservative. I have no problem with a robust debate over that. Just don't pretend that what is being posted about Rudy is of little more substance to conservatives than the average infomercial at 4AM in the morning.
