Thanks for tracking down the real info on this. It's a shame that people on a conservative website would be spreading such garbage.

What will you do in the general, if Rudy is the GOP candidate?

I don't know what Sun would do but I would put up a poster of RUDY - GOP with BARF ALERT prominently displayed over the top of it.

I'm with you on Newt. Personal issues aside, he's the best man for the job. He'd eat Hiterly for lunch in the debates.

But with Newt defraying his decision and losing ground, Guliani is the best alternative. Not perfect on Gun Rights, Immigration, etc., but he's savvy enough not to rock the boat too much. He effectively dealt with a bunch of whacko socialists on the NYC council and he'll do what it takes to not rock the boat with the Republican base/Congress.

Name the Red States that would want Hiterly to win. She doesn't play too well in "flyover" country and would have difficulties winning in the Republican strongholds in the South.

You could put the anti-Christ against Hitlery and residents n states like Mississippi and Alabama would have to think twice before pulling the lever for the beast.

I agree Hillary is not an option. But there are some who would rather vote for something, than against something. Using fear to try and motivate voters is not the way to go.

"What will you do in the general, if Rudy is the GOP candidate?"

I'm not even thinking about that right now - I'm focusing on getting people to vote in the primaries for a conservative, like Tancredo, Hunter, or whatever other conservative might emerge between now and then.

As a life long member of the NRA, and the wife of a retired military man, guns are real important to me (I carry a C/C .40 S&W Glock to the grocery store for heavens sake!). However, that said, it is not the only important issue for me. I think everyone here would agree a win for "President Hillary" would be a disaster---on sooooo many levels---and that is precisely what you are leaving the door open for. Most of us would LIKE someone more conservative, but name one, just one, that can beat Hillary. I can't think of even one, no matter how much money they could raise.

If I lived in New York, and especially if I were the Mayor, I would have grave concerns about some dumbass firing off 15 rounds from his "hand cannon" in the thin walled apartment next door. The law of "unintended consequences" could come rapidly into play---as in multiple dead bodies! As a "gun person", I'm certain you recognize the fact that the Bronx, or Brooklyn, is a lot different than the "wilds" of Michigan--or Oklahoma for that matter. There are parts of this country termed "fly over" country for a reason (population density). I am quite certain Rudy recognizes New York is much different than other parts of the country. I am also certain he understands just what sort of insurrection could result from an illegal "gun grab". You can take the outcry over the Miers nomination and multiply it by about a thousand times.

I read the "1st Freedom", every month, from cover to cover, but it is ALWAYS with the realization that the NRA is interested in one issue, only, and I, being a well rounded concerned citizen, am not a "one issue wonder". (By the way, what's up with those outrageous hunting license fees up there?)

Then vote "conservative", but when "President Hillary" takes your money, your home, then your guns, don't bitch. You really think she's interested in reopening the abortion issue? Rudy has at least said he thinks it should be a state issue, and rightly so.

Hey, maybe you can get Ross or Pat to run again.

I like Tancredo too, but I don't think he has a ghost of a chance. He's not doing well raising money (I sent one through his website.) and he just doesn't have the name recognition necessary in Red states. Like it or not, we have to carry some Red states to win--and that, unfortunately, is what it comes down to.

I gave you my honest opinion on how the vote will most likely go in this state on the gun issue. The gay rights agenda is very unpopular here also. Then there is the PBA thing that isn't popular anywhere, even with most of the dems.

The hunting license thing is because people were stupid enough to give the Canadian Communist a second term. Within 30 days of the election she came out with her plan to double all license fees and raise everyones taxes.

If there is any silver lining its the fact that she is unlikely to ever be elected to any other statewide office.

Donald Duck should have been able to beat her last time. Unfortunately we ran Daffy Duck who snubbed sportsmen and was the head of Amway. If there is anything less popular than an Amway salesman at the door I can't think of it off hand.

I agree with the first part of that, she would be a disaster. On the second part, I'm not leaving the door open, Rudy as the nominee would guarantee a Hillary win.

Rudy will also take your guns, is pro-abortion, including pba, pro-illegal immigration, pro-special rights for gays, believes in global warming - just like Hillary.

Don't forget what happened in 2006.

One of Rush's substitute hosts said that the Republican candidate could lose around 20% from people who will stay home or vote third party, if it's a lib.

I like Duncan Hunter.

Primaries are a year away - it's too early to feel you have to settle.

I like Hunter, yes, but I like Newt better. I have not made up my mind, other than to say I'll be voting for whoever has an (R) behind their name.

I'm just trying to keep my options open, but I will tell you, even with my reservations about Rudy, I'll vote for him in a heartbeat if the choice is between he and Hillary. Are you saying you won't vote if he gets the nomination? You would really risk Hillary being President for 8 years? You are honestly willing to take that risk by not voting?

As I said in my last post, I'm focusing on getting people to vote in the primaries for a conservative, like Tancredo, Hunter, or whatever other conservative might emerge between now and then.

If we run a liberal against a liberal, we will end up with a liberal.
