I'll give her credit for actually going there and doing something. Yes she hopes her celebrity status will get more attention to the situation.
I don't see her blaming Bush or the US. In fact, the article plainly says the problem is coming from Sudan (read Islam) killing and raping (probably Christians) from Central African Republic.

Don't know what Hutton and "designer tribalism" (not that I disagree with you on the PC playing around with cultures) has to do with this, but this area, unpopular with the news, has been having problems, like Chad and Darfur. They are real problems, and stay below the public attention most of the time. Some of it's the remains of colonialism, and how boundaries were created by Europeans before spinning these countries off, some of it relates to how different groups interact, and a lot of it has to do with social disintegration and bad government practices that interfere with economic activity.
I've been tracking this area for a long time, and you have to work to find out because it's far from the popular cause du jour. Doesn't mean it's not real, either. Would be nice if we could go in, shake some heads and say, "Stop running your countries foolishly. Do things that will let your economies grow. Stop fighting, and start building." But that doesn't happen in this world.

I think this woman is seriously mentally disturbed and must be living a very unhappy and empty life.
She needs deprogramming and fast.
As for your crack laying the blame for Allen's sins at her feet, well, not only does it lack class, it is it off base since Farrow essentially ended her career to be with her kids. It makes you sound like the holier-than-thou, my-%^%$-doesn't-stink, God-and-I-will-judge busybody down the street.
I kept thinking that she was one weird, messed up woman, then I lamented that the exchange students I was with would think that this was typical American celebrity behavior.
Maybe it is.

For those who have forgotten who Mia Farrow is, she used to be Woody Allen's girlfriend until he started playing footsie with her daughter.

I do understand your initial intention. If it were any other 'celebrity' I would likely agree with you about this being nothing but a self-serving photo-op. But, Farrow has avoided the limelight for most of her adult life and has adopted something like ten kids (to raise - not as trophies).
