SACRAMENTO, Calif. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, speaking of "the kind of president I will want to be," rallied California Republicans on Saturday with praise for President Bush and a declaration that victory over terrorism is "the great moral issue of our time."
Giuliani, who earned renown for his leadership after the World Trade Center attacks, drew cheers from delegates at the California Republican Party convention by evoking the courage of rescue workers on Sept. 11, 2001, and calling for new resolve in the war on terrorism.
Giuliani never formally announced he was running for president, yet concluded his speech by saying: "You get to decide who that leader is going to be. I wish you would decide on me."

Can you imagine a voice that's anti-terrorist, without being hounded by the Press all the time! It's almost too good to even think about. He said all the riht things in California. He will take California over Hillary.
My only fear is that the election is so far away, and so much can happen between now and then.

What a shame he's so weak on the 2nd amendment, protection of marriage, and illegal immigration. Among other issues.

"if" we had control of either the House or the Senate, these issues would not be so important.

WE don't, and that is the reason "why" these things are magnified abut Rudy.

Ditto that. But, then he wouldn't get the media attention that he does, and he would never have been mayor of NYC. The MSM wants him because it's a real smash in the teeth for social conservatives if he is able to get the support of the Republican party.

He will take California over Hillary. I have yet to hear one negative thing about him, even from my more NPR-ish artsy friends. All the Dem Jews I know like him and say they would vote for him over Hillary. Jimmy Carter has really done some damage to the Dems vis a vis the Jewish vote, I know that.

Victory over terrorism is "the great moral issue of our time." Giuliani would say that. It's the only plank in his platform that's not rotten.

He's been a tireless and magnificent campaigner for the GOP, for GWB and for countless numbers of GOP candidates throughout the USA.

Look for him to get lots of support from elected office holders he's helped.

What a shame he's so weak on the 2nd amendment, protection of marriage, and illegal immigration. Yeah, it's truly a shame. A shame that career Republican Congressmen failed to address these issues too.

Well, that's the rub isn't it? It's the tough aspect of this situation. Being pro-life myself, I look back and examine what recent GOP Presidents have done to turn back the Roe v. Wade tide. Very little, in truth. They've put Conservative judges in place and that's about it. I believe Rudy would do that too. So I look at other issues, including WHO CAN ACTUALLY GET ELECTED, and I try to make a realistic choice among those who are running and can potentially win. I want to hear more from Romney and McCain certainly, but I admire many things about Rudy. I know one thing, any of the top three Republicans are vastly preferable to Hillary or Hussein Obama. I don't think Duncan Hunter has a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nod btw.

As a Conservative first and Republican second, Rudy presents some irreconcilable differences for me.
Rudy Duncan
--------------- -----------------------
Pro-abort Pro-life
Gun grabber Pro-2nd amendment
Pro-queer Pro-traditional family
Pro-RINO Conservative
Lots 'o baggage Just a small carryon :)
Duncan Hunter is the ONLY declared conservative in the race.
Primaries are about philosophy, general elections are about parties.

I agree! Rudy probably will dump wife number three for wife or mistress number four before the primaries.
