As individuals the bloggers and participants at places like FreeRepublic (if any other institutes of such quality ever emerge, as FR really is unique) aren't neutral, whether right or left. However, as an institution the net based new media IS the neutral party, when taken as a whole. It doesn't take reporting with no point of view, it take reporting from all points of view to present a true picture. If all of the versions are out there I firmly believe that truth will out.
You're so right.
All I want this Lamestream to do is ADMIT their bias. No problem with them taking the same point of view but TELL US up front.
This noble notion that journalists are impartial is a myth that needs to die as soon as possible.
Years ago that's what we were taught as journalists. Get all sides, present them clearly in an unbiased manner, just report what you are told nothing more, leave nothing out add nothing in, and then let the audience, readers, etc. make up their minds.Journalism should be pure unadulterated.
Those days as we see are clearly over.
Today it's New Media vs. old.
We are winning the battle as subscriptions to old media papers and ratings for DBM t.v. nets decline every year. The battle is Capitalism vs. Socialism/Communism,the stakes are ruling the world and the war will be waged on the web, talk radio and occasionally t.v screens.
We are the Knights of the Round Table and guys like Rush have become near kings. You can be Sir Lancealot Phsstpok.
