Thank you...I heard Cornyn's first remark about Howard staying out of our business.

I was really looking forward to hearing Duncan Hunter's interview..but, my plumbing decided to pick that exact time to overflow in my laundry room....LOL

Cornyn defended Howard's point about what we must do in Iraq. He began, however, by saying he would prefer him to stay out of our politics...THEN went on to defend the point about Iraq Howard was making.

He liked Howard's point, in other words, but didn't care for Howard mentioning candidates who are running and/or speaking out here in the States.

However, Duncan Hunter actually defended the PM speaking out.

Personal opinion, we have problems with the CIA, Energy Department, State and all the others where liberals have run amok for years. Getting rid of them is difficult too because of the government unions.

Sounds like you're on the same page with Newt

In 1991 my concern for replacing the broken interagency system with an integrated system of effective coordination was heightened when General Max Thurmond who had planned and led the liberation of Panama told me unequivocally that the interagency process was broken.

In 1995 that process was reinforced when General Hartzog described the failures of the interagency in trying to deal with Haiti.

As early as 2002 it was clear that the interagency had broken down in Afghanistan and I gave a very strong speech in May 2003 at the American Enterprise Institute criticizing the process.

By the summer of 2003 it was clear the interagency was failing in Iraq and by September and October 2003 we were getting consistent reports from the field of the gap between the capability of the combat forces and the failure of the civilian systems.

No senior officer in the Defense Department doubts that the current interagency cannot work at the speed of modern war. They will not engage in a fight with the National Security Council or the State Department or the various civilian agencies which fail to do their job. But in private they will assert over and over again that the interagency system is hopelessly broken.

I couldn't be here for it nor can I tape it. Believe it or not I'm that "tech" deprived. That's why I went and read the transcript.

I'm so sorry about your emergency plumbing problem.

DON'T WE JUST HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!!

We're currently working on the logistics for my wife and now grown kids to come along too, for one last family trip to Disneyworld. I should be making my reservations this week. I'll FReepmail you my logistics as I get them set.

See you there. Make sure to set aside some time for you and yours to join us at one of our favorite places, the Adventurer's Club, on Paradise Island, for one evening. Imagine Indiana Jones favorite bar in the 1930s, but the people who work there are from Monty Python. And they're all Disney cast members. Very bizarre. We've made friends with many of the long term regulars there over the years and really look forward to seeing any that are still there again. It's a hoot.

The question is not

"Are you cynical?"

The question is

"Are you cynical enough?"

Sounds marvelous, one man's trash is another man's treasure. At first I was shocked at how many things were still in their original packaging, now that is what I look for more often than not. I usually give them to myself as gifts, or to someone that has nothing like a Shelter for Abused Women that our Republican Women donate to every year. It is great especially if you are broke, and want to give them something to cheer them. I went to one Yard sale and the Woman must have had 10 never opened Classy packaging containing beautifully designed soaps, Perfumes, Bath Salts, Scrubbing Lotions and Conditioners, and colognes. She did not want anything to do with them. She said her kids give her this stuff several times a year on all birthdays, Anniversaries, or whatnot, and she will never use them all and she has no room. These were better Department store Gifts and she had $2.00 price tags on them. Such a deal Dahling!!!!!!!

I named a star after my 1st granddaughter...and her uncle, who died of complications from diabetes just 2 months after she was born.

She has the certificate...and the "map" to which is her star on her wall in her room.

Not to brag, but actually Newt is aligned with me/us. We conservatives have complained about this since Jimmy Carter. Little did we realize how bad it was. Political holdovers have undermined US interests for years.

Now the method seems to be leaving the White House and going to Energy and State (and others) as a means of staying on a payroll as they undermine the administration.

I would be willing to bet many leaks would almost disappear if these people were not transferring to these departments.

Thank you for this post re: Lincoln's approach to the South and slavery.

I posted earlier that I got two opposite stories in one day, yesterday...and they were both from black men.

Go figure.

Regarding Allard, and his taking NBC and Arkin to task.

I found it most interesting to see him on Fox News the other night...now I know why.

I have a problem with the idea that any of the Senators that are running for POTUS are actually "serving their terms as Senator".

I have heard not less than 3 of them will be somewhere other than Washington tomorrow...in the Senate.

Preettty please, please please, tell me this is the start of a entry you are going to post on the Control Congress Website?

Bush's War

This War is America's War. The people were behind it. Congress voted overwhelmingly for it. In fact- they WANTED the opportunity to go on record for the War.

The Oil For Food Scandal revealed why the UN was not quite so supportive. They had too many packets being lined at the expense of Iraqi lives.

The "We can't Win" mantra is a smoke screen and a lie. If we had found the WMD, these same people would be proudly touting their support. So- with this reality- I want to know- WHAT DOES WMD being found or NOT being found have to do with winning a military operation? What does being "duped" have to do with the abilities of the American Military?

It is a false argument- built on lies and sound bites serving political purposes at the expense of our security- all for power and money- and not a DAMN thing to do with patriotism, right and wrong, or "support" of our troops.

Oh my Gawd, I had not heard that before. It sounds like a worse story that a Little boy would make up when his mother found him in The Cookie Jar.
