*****Smart of him to neglect to mention that he's from the legislative branch, given how badly presidential candidates from Congress perform.****
That's a straw-man argument as 2008 is unlike any POTUS election in decades.
- When was the last time that a WOMAN was elected POTUS?
- When was the last time that a BLACK was elected POTUS?
- When was the last time that a MEXICAN was elected POTUS?
- When was the last time that a sitting U.S. Senator was elected POTUS?
- When the last time that a 1st term sitting U.S. Senator was elected POTUS?
- When was the last time that a North Eastern liberal, oops 'moderate', governor was elected POTUS?
- When was the last time that a Mormon was elected POTUS?
- When was the last time that an 'ex' One Term U.S. Senator who did nothing for the last four years was elected POTUS?
Last but not least...
- When was the last time that a North Eastern Liberal ex Mayor was elected POTUS?
No offense, but all this 'a Congressman can't win' stuff is baloney. 2008 will be an election of 'firsts'.
(I think I have all the candidates covered)

Very well said. This is wide open territory we're in. Might as well back the real deal candidate who agrees with you.

Why not ask "When was the last time a polka-dotted alien from a star system in the constellation of Orion was elected president?"
Good job at attempting to discount an established trend by trying to marginalize its meaning, but you went too far into minutia for your own good.
And I'll say it YET AGAIN: I'm not discounting Hunter simply because he's from the legislative branch. I'm simply saying that it would be sound to factor that nugget of information into your evaluation of the candidates.
