I'm not a big fan of 'spam' either, the problem is some are here a lot and tire of seeing it over and over and get to know each other and their sides of things all to well and show it in the open animosities that flourish here thru the different campaigns and such, yet there are other folks who may not come thru here very often and might not see it otherwise.
There is a fine line that oft gets trampled, yet who knows somewhere down the road , the 'favor' may get returned.
This place has a way of leveling and elevating issues and proponents on both sides, unfortunately it's like a sausage factory process and not necessarily for the queasy.
