Well, considering he was a keynote speaker at the right to life convention, I hardly think he is hiding from the issue. He's been a staunch pro-lifer for many years.

Both Carter and Clinton were essentially dark-horse unknowns when they started their efforts to run.

I agree it is an uphill battle, however if Duncan Hunter or some other individual makes a good showing in one or two early states, while say McCain stumbled badly, the stakes would change overnight
