The only candidates are these three dwarfs? The party is in a lot of trouble... a lot of trouble.

"Star power won't cover the sin of liberal positions to voting Republicans"

Well, voting Republicans will make up about 30% of the voters in 2008 -- unfortunately Dim voters make up about 30% as well and the other 40% are Independents (people without discernible principles). I don't like the odds for Hunter.

By the by, Carter won because Ford's pardon of Nixon (pretty unfair, but the MSM couldn't resist demonizing even a liberal Republican) and Clintoon only won because Bush I broke his word on taxes and gave that terminal nutcase Perot a shot at him with Republicans.

I can't imagine who, other than the idiot left-wing, thought that Reagan couldn't win. Beating the moronic Jimmah didn't take much charisma I can tell you. Reagan just had to prove he'd never raised peanuts and understood that stagflation could actually be dealt with and America didn't have to take the kind of crap from Iran that Jimmy seemed to think we deserved.

Oh, no worries, I've already put some skin in the game (for Hunter). We shall see what happens.

I stand corrected, sort of. If you just click on "Core Principles" you go to page that links to his big three issues. You have to carefully hover over the core principles button and then click carefully on "Where I Stand" from the drop-down java menu to find that broader list of his positions. So it's not the easiest thing to find, but I will give him credit it's there, and of course he says the right things.

The section on the Sanctity of Life is awfully sketchy considering the diversity of issues it ought to include that I'd like to hear him address in depth. At least he pays lip service to the issue in extremely generic terms, I will grant him that.

It also drove me to distrction when I heard him on a Christian radio talk show and never once mentioned abortion, special rights for gays, stem cell baby murder, etc. He is selling his big three issues and that's all he really cares to talk about. I remain unfavorably impressed.

Kyl is a top notch conservative. Kyl, unlike John, will respond to my concerns via snail mail.

Other than Ford (appointed), has a Representative ever gone directly to the Presidency?

Ask the Mayor the Mormon, and the 70 year old guy about that. And you can as the Women the 1/2 Blk guy and the Latino.

What is that type of thinking? Never won on the road against a National league team with the wind blowning in from Center on a night game on a major network in October with the white uniforms and with a left hander.

Yep and you would think the GOP would have learned that lesson from John Kerry as a candidate. The democrats didn't like him till they were told to like him but we aren't liberal Koolaide drinkers on the right.

Bullbeep! None of them are dwarfs.

McCain did 6 years in a prison camp being tortured and refused early release.

To this day he can't raise his arms high enough to comb his own hair.

You may not like his style of politics — as I myself don't — but he's no dwarf.

Neither are Romney or Giuliani.

Romnet turned around the Salt Lake City Olympics — which was a mess — and did a pretty good job as governor of Mass.

As for Guiliani, he tamed shambolic New York City and did a magnificent job after 9/11.

Many would and have said Bush didn't stand a chance against the MSM but he won twice.

Where is this conservative backbone I have heard so much about. Many complain about Bush having his head in the sand and not standing up for true conservative values.

But many are also surrendering their conservative spirit to McCain and Rudy G because they are easy candidates.

The road to victory is never soft! If we want a real conservative President, hell, if we want a real conservative movement we must stand on principle!!

Never back down, never surrender!

Unfortunately, Duncan Hunter would lose to Her Royal Heinous.

Nevertheless, he should be supported vigorously if he's the nominee.

Unfortunately I suspect that many of those who most vehemently demand that all vote for any given "R", don't bother to follow their own advice if they aren't getting their way.

And yet Abraham Lincoln was a little known Congressman from Illinois when he ran and won?
