That's exactly what I said, and my friend called me crazy. So did my family. But I don't think they know how much money can be made off of organ harvesting. I feel really bad too because it's not like I'll be using them, and it is selfish of me to say I want to potentially prolong my life by not being a donor, thus denying other people the use of perfectly good organs (well...they may not be at this point, I don't know how lyme disease affects things) but I want to live as long as possible and I don't want to die so someone can make a profit, much less a complete stranger.

Why is it any different for you to want to prolong your life by keeping your organs as it is for somebody else to want to prolong his or her life by taking your organs?

God gave you your organs, and he also gave many of us generous, caring hearts. I would be happy to be an organ donor again, but I don't trust the medical industry to do right by me, so the answer is no. Those in need of my organs should take it up my rescinded generosity with the medical industry.
