"Sounds good to me; and when President Bush gets a statue in Baghdad, that will really piss them off."
Well, I think, just as the Democratic slimeballs who ran for president in 2000 and 2004 promised to be more like Reagan than Bush43, I'd bet anyone a thousand bucks the Dem candidates in 2020 and 2024 will be saying that they'll be more like Bush43 than whoeer we have running at the time. And I well remember how Reagan's broad shoulders bore the long knives in the back by traitors like Kerry and others.

I would love to see a Reagan Memorial on the Mall. The libs would never pay for it so it would be up to private contributions to fund it. I for one would gladly contribute a grand to it!

Finally,
a tribute to the man who's vision and personal efforts shaped freedom for a new Europe. I was 13 years old in 1983, when my mother checked my brother and me out of school one afternoon and took us downtown to see Ronald Reagan deliver a speech. I remember thinking, she must think this is important. The speech lasted about an hour and in that time, my view of what the world could be had undergone a radical change. I knew, then, why my mother thought it so important and worthy, of pulling us out of school that day. She wanted us to hear for ourselves the vision for America, and she knew, no one could communicate that vision or what America stood for better then "The Great Communicator", Ronald Reagan.
To this day, I am thankful I got hear with my own ears, the value and power of individual freedom, and what it means to be an American.
Thank you mom! And, thank you Ronald Reagan!!

It would be nice if they could get an authentic slice of the Berlin Wall, and have President Reagan, Pope John Paul II, and the electrician from Gdansk pushing on the wall...

The EU will probably tell Poland that they will withhold membership if the statue is allowed to be built.

I miss President Reagan more & more each day, especially when I see the presidential candidates for 2008.
I think every city in America & the free world should put up a statue of him.

> New Europe is greater than Old Europe.
Speaking of New Europe, I saved this from a few years ago, I think its most eloquent.
The following is an excerpt of comments from Albanian Prime Minister Fatos Nano, in a statement on the eve of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
"History is old. The only new thing about history is the United States. America is the only country in the world that exports freedom. When the historical occasion has called for it, the United States of America has been willing to pay the price in order to free the oppressed, even in states that have sought its harm.
It brought freedom and democracy to Japan and Germany after defeating both in World War II. It rebuilt their societies and taught them about liberty. It helped bring down the Berlin Wall hastening the process of freedom in Central and Eastern Europe. It rarely asked anything in return.
Now the United States and its Coalition of the Willing will bring liberty to Iraq. And when the coalition of the willing completes its work, it will be time for the coalition of builders to repair, restore and rebuild Iraq under the name of freedom. We are proud to be in the company of the free."
Prime Minister Fatos Nano gets it.
