there is a firewall, and it’s real, it’s real, between the editorial page and the news pages.

We know this is true...by virtue of the fact that Abu Ghraib led the front page for, what?, thirty-three days in a row?

I found myself wondering if Burns -- a throwback to another era -- might have become so remote from headquarters that he simply doesn't realize what has happened to the paper.

"And to tell you the truth, I have no idea how the executive editor at the New York Times votes...."

Anyone who can say this without a smirk or a wink is a stone-cold liar. I know John Burns is supposed to be better than the typical snot-nosed MSM leftist, but c'mon, this statement does not pass the laugh-out-loud test!!

That's why NY Slimes had front page news and pix of AbuGhraib for about thirty six straight days. If John Burns actually believes what he is saying then he is indeed a profoundly obtuse intellectual cripple. Otherwise he's just a bought liar.

They seem to be oblivious to what happened after 1975, even though our own country has taken in and settled hundreds of thousands of refugees. Is this another instance of people not thinking about things they do not think about?

John Burns is being interviewed by Brian Lamb on CSPAN right now. I know that HHewitt was very impressed by him, but I must say his physical appearance diminishes his credibility as an incountry reporter to me.

His hair is gray and as afro as a Halloween clown wig! He is wearing an illfitting blue blazer, and khaki pants. What a strange looking creature.

This single sentence fragment tells you that everything else that you read in this article is a GD lie. Period.

I heard this exchange on the Hugh Hewitt show, and I agree with you. If he thinks the front page of the NYTimes is straight reporting, then his powers of observation are not worth anything.
