"You and your ilk seem to get your panties in a bunch because a very large group of people seem to be getting away with something."

You are correct. I take offense at criminals stealing from me and our American culture. Those of you who aid and abet criminals are to be scorned.

And you are the epitome of a "small business owner" who molly coddles criminals at the expense of your fellow citizens. Your types ARE the problem just as much as the illegal criminal. Pathetic.

I think you are exactly right. Too much profit potential for organized crime & politicians (some would say they are synonymous) by keeping it illegal & unregulated.

NOt right. They were (according to this story, from this particular "reporter", does someone have a credible source?) fired for "changing their stories". That could mean that before they got immunity, they had one story, and after they got immunity, they told the truth. They wouldn't be prosecutable for having lied earlier to protect themselves, Ramos, and Compean, but they could still be fired because you don't want BP agents who will lie to cover up shootings.

Oddly, if accurate, people here seem happy that these two were fired for lying about there not being a shooting, but think the two jailed BP agents should be given their jobs back and promoted but they committed the same lies.

Poe supposedly said: "When you give deals to witnesses like immunity, the government usually gets the testimony (it wants)," said Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, a former judge and prosecutor. "This case is a perfect example."

Poe was a prosecuter and a judge, and he thinks that most of the time witnesses given immunity lie on the stand? That is unbelievable. Why would any judge ever allow an immunized witness to even testify if he was convinced they are all liars? How could you be a prosecuter and believe that your own witnesses can be easily bribed to lie on the stand?

At the moment, I have trouble believing Poe could say something this stupid.

And you go on doing this for eight years, plus when you leave office you somehow convince your successor not to investigate any of the mess you left behind.

I'm beginning to think Clinton and Bush are two sides of the same coin. They seem to get along really, really well.

You're really twisting that one around. Immunity is not granted for testimony that is not desired ... that is a paraphrase of what Poe said.

Twenty-five years ago illegals hit our construction company flatbed when I was tasked with running the building of a custom home for the personnel director for the labs.

The truck was out of commission and the culprits had nada, no license, registration, insurance.

As for all the elements of the labor burden, at that time they amounted to 52% for the building trades.

Here's something to consider: friends who went down to work the border remarked that a) they had to keep their names and identities secret to avoid getting targeted; and, b) they had one mole caught and others suspected, that is, another agency employee who would "steer" shipments through the border enforcement.

I know this worked on the Canadian border, that if "certain agents" were on duty, the shipments went through; if not, the headlights of the lead vehicle flashed and the load was sent back for later.

Ramos and Compean disrupted the free flow of drugs at market prices.

It's not just to keep the border open, but also to keep the drugs running.

Methedrine now eighty percent Mexican.

China provides the superlabs with precursor chemicals. China has traditionally done this, recently with Burma/Myanmar.

Richardson's Third District was the number one spot in the nation for heroin overdose deaths per capita.

Shall the circle be unbroken.

You're absolutely right..... and when we lived in California twice our car was hit by illegals without a license or insurance and the cops just shrugged it off.

I think you nailed it. It is the only logical explanation as to why we cant(wont) fight the war on drugs and win it. You would think all these highly educated people in charge would be smarter than that. Guess not.

How about the fact he was running drugs into America? Or doesnt the prospect of your children getting into these drugs bother you? Wise up pal.

Man, you need a fact checker. Poe said nothing of the sort. What is the point of using words that he never used? Take his statement at face value, it is undeniably true! If you think prosecutors routinely give immunity to hostile witnesses you're smoking too much dope.

Having considered this case I've come to one conclusion. The notion that a drug runner carrying product worth 750,000 US bucks in drugs in his van is not armed is laughable.

National Guard troops without bullets, and BP agents without motivation.

Open borders, defacto Mexico/America merge, fait accompli.

At this point I cannot imagine why ANYONE would consider working for the Border Patrol.

I think that's the message that was intended.
