Now the 91/30 ... there is a sniper rifle. So simple even a Muslim could take care of it, and accurate as hell. Shame about the safety and weak scope though. Put an 8x scope on it and it would probably work well even today. And you can buy 50 of them with 10,000 rounds of ammo for about $5,000 US.
I like the old Moisin-Nagant a lot, once I got over the clunky look of it. I bought a Finnish M39 that has a very old receiver but a new barrel and stock. It is as accurate as the loads. Shooting old Hungarian and Romanian surplus steel-core ammo it is pretty good but with modern ammo it is very good. My son has a Moisin M44 carbine that is a blast (literally) to shoot but the barrel is shot out.
