The FDA regulates foods, drugs, and cosmetics. Tobacco is none of these

Nicotine is a psychoactive addictive drug. Open and shut case anytime the nannies want to push the issue.

While we both agree that nicotine is a drug as the word is commonly used, the word drug has a different and more specific meaning under the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act. It is defined as a substance used to cure, mitigate or treat disease. For this reason, new legislation would be needed in order to empower the FDA busybodies to regulate tobacco as badly as they regulate everything else.

I am sorry I wrote my post in a way that was confusing.
