Hey Ellen -- the earth has been warming and cooling for a very long time...read a high school science book. Now, what are you going to write about ???

The certainty of the human role is now somewhere over 90 percent. Which is about as certain as scientists ever get. Six hundred years ago, 99% of scientists were certain the Earth was flat and maggots spontaneously generated in rotten meat.

Probably.
My response:
Ms. Goodman:
Are you aware of any scientific research that indicates that variations in solar activity is not the primary contributor to current warming pattern? Put me down as a skeptic as to anthropogenic role in climate change until I see the scientific evidence that rules out the most obvious cause.
In the mean time, I suggest that if you want to abate your CO2 footprint, plant some trees.
Respectfully,
(Name witheld on account of fear of being burned as a heretic and denier)

Ellen Goodman is your typical liberal columnist flunky.

There are astonishing gaps between Republican science and Democratic science. Try these numbers: Only 23 percent of college-educated Republicans believe the warming is due to humans, while 75 percent of college-educated Democrats believe it. So what you are saying is the democRat students are like lemmings. Blindly following the paradigm as laid out by their liberal professors.

On the day that the latest report on global warming was released, I went out and bought a light bulb. OK, an environmentally friendly, compact fluorescent light bulb. BZZZZZ! Wrong answer, Ellen. You do-gooder watermelon types should have had florescent bulbs YEARS ago! Or, perhaps, you were thinking they were too expensive? Hmmmm?

Let's just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future. Go buy some more light bulbs Ellen!

As I recall, anyone outside the Marxist conclaves of Boston, Cambridge, Brookline, and Amherst consider Goodman to be a blithering dolt with limited talent who must have something on one of the Globe's editors.

You can't "deny" the future.

On the day that the latest report on global warming was released, I went out and bought a light bulb. Actually, the scientific study has yet to be released. The report issued that sent Ms. Goodman to the hardware store is the UN Bureaucrat's spin on a study that will be released in May. See, this way, the man-made Global Warming acolytes have more than three months to influence public lawmaking and lawmakers before anyone has a chance to see if the science behind the actual study is valid. If any other scientific research were presented this way, it would be rejected out of hand and rightly so.

"Let's just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers,..."
Goodman isn't even a competent propagandist. The warmists* started using "denier" without being specific about the connection to Holocaust denial -- they just knew that everyone would make that connection. Meanwhile, if anyone objected, they could simply "deny" that they were drawing a shameless equivalence with Holocaust denial. She completely ruined the effect by spelling it out.
* You might think that "warmist" is meant to convey the point that the global warming fanatics tend toward fascism -- much like "Islamists" are totalitarian Muslims. You can think that; but I wouldn't want to spell it out for you.
