Anyone else see glaciers all over the North American continent? I don't either.

My God how stupid people manage to get grant money amazes me.

Why do you believe it's a pile of manure?

Because of the evidence.

Based on a short story by Ray Bradbury, if I remember correctly. Never saw the movie, the book had better CGI. (In my head, if you know-wata-mean.)

"Global Warming" is a present day disaster, no? How many billion$ have been spent "researching" global warming? Look at the headlines...

Man wasn't around then, but the idea that there's a big climatological disaster in the offing is reinforced to the people who take these crunchy-granola theories as absolute fact...

Did you bother to READ it before you posted?
They are talking about events 30 million years ago.
Or do you think the climate has always been the same going back 10's of millions of years?

Got it: "A Sound of Thunder" (1952) by Ray Bradbury

Sometimes, it seems, my memory does work correctly.

I already answered this to saganite above, do you bother to read all the posts before you respond?. You can see this most serious issue has already been addressed. Good Day!

Article: "and carbon isotopes act as barometers, revealing relative humidity."

Karl: "Barometers measure relative humidity? You learn something new (and wrong) every day."

ba·rom·e·ter
–noun 1. Meteorology. any instrument that measures atmospheric pressure. Compare aneroid barometer, mercury barometer.
2. anything that indicates changes.

Perhaps it is the second definition which the author intended?? The english language is a very interesting tool - sometimes words have multiple meanings and uses....

[One theory was that abrupt continental shift altered the ocean currents.]

An abrupt continental shift that takes 300,000 years? I read the article and the comments. Here is what I understand. About 33 million years ago, the climate was changing at about .00005 degrees/year for a period of about 300,000 years. This temperature drop is theorized to be caused by oceanic current change.

This makes perfect sense when one considers plate tectonics.

So answer me this; What was the temperature back then before and after the 300,000 years of cooling?

Thanks.
