A 757 does seem overkill for the Speaker and a couple of aides. What's the big deal about refueling? Most corporate jets would have to refuel doing a cross-country. She'd probably still beat the time to hassle with flying commercial.

The refueling thing makes no sense. If she had a smaller jet at her immediate disposal she could be back home in no time at all even with a refueling stop thrown in. If she had to wait for a larger plane to become available, she might not have such a convenient flight schedule. If it were me, I would opt for the smaller jet. Maybe she is afraid of flying in commuter-size jets or gets airsick in them.
