Hate to say it, folks, but she has a point. If a Speaker was from Hawaii, she would be entitled to secure transport and a C-20 probably won't do it.

OTOH, she's not from Hawaii, and a fuel stop is not a horrible price to pay to not be flying commercial.

Let her land and refuel at a military base.

Why couldn't she fly commercial? In fact, why did Hastert need a personal airplane? Did they think something was going to happen to Cheney? Why can't they just buy a ticket for their entourage and fly commercial on a non-stop flight? Who set this precedent? If she is so concerned about defense dollars, pay for her and her group a ticket. probably cheaper. It would be a good show of faith for a leaner government.

The military needs their planes and fuel.

I think she deserves an SR-71 on standby at all times.
I am sure she needs to get back to San Franciso quickly so she doesn't miss the office S and M party.

Secure doesn't mean she actually has to take a plane, she could go by submarine, ship or a canoe.

I would prefer she take the canoe, I am sure it is plenty secure for the witch.
