Since you will fail at that, let me offer you some advice: seek reality with an eye towards clarity. Marching in lockstep with any program that is not grounded in founding principles of representative democracy is a fools game. In this republic of ours, my loyalties are to the principles ensconced in our founding documents. I disdain the cult of personality that bedevils the weakminded and weakhearted. In matters of domestic policy, this current administration has kowtowed to the Left and failed to use the innate strength and power that is inherent in conservatism. Not to lay all the blame on President Bush, he was also torpedoed by an invertebrate Congress, controlled by his own party.
It is, perhaps, good that Goldwater and Reagan are gone to the great hereafter. If they knew what the inheritors of their party have wrought, they'd be gathering the great unwashed into a pitchforks and shovels brigade.
