There don't seem to be a lot of options. But Lautenburg's negative ratings are simply too high to write this race off.

Hi All- Senator Frank Lautenberg is such an arrogant asshat that he allowed the enormous new train station hub in Secaucus to be named after him while he is still alive.

His inner circle now responds to ALL written and telephone communications with the Senator.
I have almost no doubt Lautenberg will be reelected.

Ok, who's the next New Jersey Great Republican Hope to be chewed up and spit out by a Democrat hack? Line forms to the right....
To: Blue Jays
Wow, he's aiming low. How come he hasn't moved to have Camden named after him ?

This is the NJ GOP we're talking about. The line forms on the LEFT.

My first choice would be Steve Forbes, but he hasn't shown interest in the past. Maybe we can convince Congressman Mike Ferguson, a Catholic pro-life moderate from Central Jersey, to run for the seat.

With legislative races this year expected to do little to tilt the balance of power in Trenton, the hottest race in New Jersey could very well be the one for the U.S. Senate seat held by Democrat Frank Lautenberg. Hopefully the grim reaper will have caught up to him by then. He's a thouroughly repulsive man.

Mike Ferguson has an "F" rating from the NRA and GOA. He is a gungrabber.

Yeah, I'd prefer Forbes, but it seems like the party will put up someone like the ultra-RINO State Sen. Diane Allen (who, of course, will be trounced). Hell, I'd even settle for Doug Forrester at this point. Too bad Bret Schundler couldn't go for it, but you know that tune...

It's either that or he has to go to a real senior citizens home. Better perks in the Senate.

"The best part of the job is not the fund-raising," Lautenberg, in a recent interview, said dryly.
Oh, that tedious interstate 'Rat money grubbing.
The best part of the job is being a forgotten desiccate fossil, for reasons only NJ corruption can explain, still propped up and paid for doing absolutely nothing.
