Get used to that crappy minority office space -- you're going to be there until they take you out feet first....

If they really want to do this jack boot Internet thing right, they need to eliminate the middle man. Why not install programs to have everyone's computer report directly on its activities to a massive law enforcement database?

Democrats = EVIL
Republicans = STUPID
We need a third party which supports Constitutional principles and the thinking of the Founding Fathers and a strong national defense.

I think we'd all be much safer with government run ISP's instead. Oh, and have bill gates invent an "illegal thoughts" monitor that users must wear while surfing the net.

Isn't that what echelon was supposed to do? Probably couldn't handle the amount of data they would have to store.

Maybe the government can screw capacitors into people's heads. When enough evil anti-government thoughts build up, the user gets a brain zap.

Declan also writes for Wired... you have to be a little careful with his stories because he is anti-Repub. Question is, is this a GOP push, or is McCainiac off his meds again?

If Newt isn't the candidate for president in 2008, I may do worse that sit at home. I'm used to voting and wouldn't feel proper opting out. Wow. Never considered voting Democrat before.

If this ever got into law, the rise of overseas anonymizer services would be instantaneous. And I'd be the first subscriber.

I hope that someone points out that the REPUBLICAN administration is doing everything they can to block enforcement of a number of laws we have now. Let's get those enforced before any more posturing to stupid constituents.

Probably couldn't handle the amount of data they would have to store. Data storage densities are growing at almost geometric proportions, and getting cheaper at the same time.
With processing power (supercomputers on a chip) continuing to grow, it is not outside the technical realm of possibilities.
Vigilance in the digital age is going to need to be greater than at any other time in the past. It needs HAS to grow at the same rate as the power of the technology.
