Words I long to hear at a Presidential Inauguration
Self...JEFFHEAD.COM (this PM) ^ | February 7, 2007 | Jeff Head

Posted on 02/07/2007 12:47:01 PM PST by Jeff Head

I long for our citizens to awaken from the morass we have fallen into and elect a President who will make statements like these at his inaugural speech:

Terrorism
It will be the policy of this admninistration to view any attack on the United States, its territories, or its interests, by weapons of mass destruction of any type from any radical islamic terror group as an attack by both Iran and Syria, and any other nation which abetts or materially supports such terror groups, and the response will be meeted out swiftly and devastatingly accordingly.

Securing our Borders
It will be the policy of this administration to secure our borders, and to do so with full mobilization of National Guard units for the purpose of doing so, with full enforcement and repelling authorization.

Illegal Entrants
It will be the policy of this administration to treat illegal entrants into this counbtry of all types as criminals and to apprehend, prosecute and expel them as such, holding them for a period commencorate to their violation and utilizing them in the construction of a double fence, with partol roads and observation posts along the entirety of the southern border. Only after such measures are fully implemented will a temproary worker program be considered, developed, and implemented.

Abortion
It will be the policy of this administration to treat the unconstitutional Roe v. Wade ruling as the unconstitutional act that it was and in keeping with my oath of office and by Executive Order to instruct the executive branches of government to cease enforcement and involvement in its continuing implementation until such time as the unconstitutinal creation for the so called "right" is overturned by the Court.

2nd Amendment
It will be the polciy of this administration to adhere strictly to the plain language of the constitution as regards the legal and lawful citizens' of this nation right to bear amrs and to, in keeping with my oath of office and by Executive Order, not enforce or support any laws which infringe on it, while working closely with Congress and the Court to repeal and overturn such laws.

Free Trade
It will be the policy of this administration to treat any totalitarian regime that does not make verifiable and substantive progress and efforts towards instituting republican principles that recognize unalienable citizen rights, as Ronald Reagan treated the Soviet Union, and to forumlat and implement economic, defense, and political strategies accordingly.

Just dreaming...but oh...I HAVE A DREAM!

These thoughts and feelings are rooted in my own feelings that there are three pivotal issues (really four when you include National Defense and the war we are fighting...but I presume that one) that will decide if any candidate, of any stripe, gets a chance to earn my vote on principle. They are (in order) abortion, 2nd amendment rights, and illegal immigration. Any of those three for me is cause for a candidate who gets it wrong on any one of those issues from my own perspective to not get my vote on principle.

Each represents a foundational segment of what our Republic and its liberty and health are based upon.

Abortion is, IMHO, the moral issue of our generation. It represents on one hand (pro-life) a support for the most fundamental unalienable right any of us are endowed with by our Creator, and on the other hand (pro abortion) an abject betrayal of that right and principle at the most fundamental level.

The 2nd Amendment and its clear language represents the most fundamental understanding of who it is that governs in this nation...the people. They MUST retain the right of defense in their hands and by their collective numbers represeent a more imposing force than the government or its military. Misunderstanding that principle, or wresting it to mean some other than the clear unambiguous language of the founders, again, represents a most fundamental betrayal of the principles upon which this Republic was founded. Fear any one who does not trust the common citizenry to bear and wield this fundamental instrument in their own defense responsibly.

Finally, illegal immigration. The most basic function of our federal government, as defined by the founders and to this day, is to protect our borders and national soveriegnty. Without it, we do not exist as an independent, free nation. Ignoring or betraying that trust, again, represents a fundamental betrayal of trust and understanding which makes, IMHO, an individual, unworthy and incapable of holding high elected office in our Repubic.

All talk of the state of the electorate, the pros and cons of supporting one brand of candidate over another in order to buy time and avoid the worst of two evils is understandable and can be applied in the absence of such abject betrayal to the very fabric on which our society is based. However, with such betrayal, I must fall back on my own faith in God and a reliance upon Him to support the right, and a sure knowledge that He will hold me accountable for my own sacred trust as a free voter in the great responsibility of free men and women to govern ourselves and elect our own representative.

I dare not, for any reason, cast my vote for anyone who represents such betrayal of said foundational principles.

That's how I see it...others are free in our society to choose their own path...but this is how I decide where to cast my vote. I am accountable to God and man for that vote and responsibility and I must discharge it accordingly.

Our bloated, anti-constitutional, out-of-control federal government will never be brought under control, nor will the constitution be restored to it's original intent, through the voting process. With that in mind, I couldn't agree more.

Send your ideas to Newt. He'd get my vote if he uses them.

While I'd love to hear these words spoken, I fear that you won't hear them from a President of these United States. Sadly, I think it will take another revolution and a creation of "Republic of United States" for these values to reappear.

Ha...thanks for the thought...but I am afraid that I am somewhat too direct for the politcal process these deays. I would actually say every one of those things and mean in it ernest.

...and it would come as no surprise on inauguration day, because the entire campaign would be based on those very issues.

We shall say as regards Newt. He certainly embraced much of this during the Republican revolution.

Duncan Hunter might also make just such a speach...or something resembling it.

I fear you may well be right...and yet, pray that we can accomplish it just the same, and have hope because I know there are yet tens of millions of Americans who understand these very principals and adhere to them...and knowing this, I also know that God in Heaven has not fogotten them.

Thanks. I believe there are tens of millions of Americans who long for just these types of sentiments and actions by our elected officials...and in that there is great hope.

Over at SinoDefense there are also many good Americans posting there...some of them US Navy and other service veterans. A lot of the shrill posters there are young teenage or early twenty kids and it is good to respond to their emotion with logic and reason.

Email going around: "2 Great Ideas"

First Great Idea

Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use.
The best way to stop using so much gas is to
deport 11 million illegal immigrants!

That would be 11 million less people using our gas.
The price of gas would come down even lower.

__________________________________________________
Second Great Idea:

Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border.
When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border,
hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq.
Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's
there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country.
He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot.
This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.

If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.

Problem solved.
