"Last night I saw a woman who was reported to be Ramos' attorney on TV. She said that when Ramos went to this Federal prison that they had requested that he not be placed in 23-hour-lockdown because that punishment was punitive. So it would appear to some extent that he asked not to be totally segregated. This is what I understood from what she said. Apparently the prison didn't have a level of security between lockdown and general population."

He requested to be placed in the general population because if placed in solitaire , he would only be allowed to speak to his family once a month. Sickening!

Thank you -- I appreciate that you understood what I was trying to convey. Everyone is so terribly upset that he was in general population when it was his legal team that asked that he not be placed in solitaire. That little fact is either not widely known or totally ignored by many around here.

Having said that, no prisoner should be attacked while in prison custody. Security is what prisons do -- it is basically all prisons do -- and they should do it better.
