True, most Dem health care proposals start at $200 Billion, EVERY YEAR, just to start, for even very modest changes, such as lowering Medicaid eligibility to 300% FPL. Even slightly more ambitious national programs pretty much break the budget and would require a significant restructuring of the tax code.

Social health programs soak up amazing amounts of revenue, forever. You can never declare "victory" and stop these programs once they start. They also provide very little to society as added back value, since most folks cope pretty well applying their common sense in getting the care they need now if they want it.
