Don't you think that Newt has too much baggage from his house days. I remember a real fight.
A "winning ticket" without a conservative is disaster.
Right on. Given that the numbers are against the GOP in 2008, I'd love to see Hillary get embarrassed by the superb intellect and debating skills of Newt. I do think Newt can win the whole thing.
What? A brawl in the House of Representatives? Now, that's my kinda guy!! Go NEWT!!
No, i don't.
Sure there is going to be
some initial inertia...but
once he starts talking, and
responding to national
audiences, he'll make a lot
of converts quickly.
There are those that will
undoubtably try and smear
him with his "baggage", but
frankly, he's not got much
more than the rest of those
on the field...and he's
armored with *real* ideas.
Remember...as well as his
"baggage"...*he's* the
architect of the
'Contract with America'.
And once again, i will think
that you are wrong.
Newt would rip her to shreds
with all her canned, rehearsed,
soundbite answers, and overly
practiced ripostes, for when she
has no pat answer to give...Newt
would be in throgh the seams of
her facade within the first half
hour. She'd be figuratively
"nekkid", with her hands and
arms, tryin to hide her "stuff",
waiting for the debate to be over,
to runn off stage...her stone tits
and flabby butt shakin all the way.
I heard Ann Coulter say something tonight that may be changing my mind. What was it?
Don't vote for someone just because you think they are "electable". Instead vote for someone who totally comes in on the conservative side.
I guess I am so afraid that Hillary will get elected, I was looking at this whole picture as who might be the best to beat the tarnation out of her.
Definitely got me to rethinking. Thanks for your patience with me! And thanks, Ann Coulter! Maybe she needs to write an article about this very issue of "electability" and that we not fall for it!
So you think the discussion of history is naive and unrealistic. Do tell! :)
When you have skeletons in your closet ,in politics, you can bet somebody is going to get them out and shake them.
And as far as the pope is concerned I just don't care. But I do think that a smart educated man should have sense enough to know when to keep his paints zipped. If he cannot do that he might start whining about getting off the back of the plane.
Looks as though Newt has committed that he will only run if the American people draft him.
Dear Jim Robinson,
"But I think he'll have to at least meet the minimum fiscal and social conservative standards."
Do you see any Republicans who currently look likely to run as not meeting those standards?
sitetest
She said something to the effect of don't vote (referring to the Republican primary vote) for the candidate just because he is "electable." That was Gerald Ford. That was Bob Dole. Vote for the right wing kook just like you. That's Ronald Reagan!
too much baggage and I cannot imagine him giving rousing speeches
Ann's one smart woman, isn't she? Glad she's on our side.
In the end, you can go so far in trying to win an election that you lose the reason for trying to win it in the first place.
Draft Fred Thompson.
I think I'd have trouble with at least a couple of the current "electable" wannabes.
BTTT! Draft Newt!
And I won't agree with any pseudo-Republican soulmate of Hillary to be Newt's running mate! We sincerely want Newt to stay alive. Find a real pro-defense, pro-family, conservative man to be his running mate.
>Sorry, bud, number 3 blew ALL your other arguments out the
>window.
So, Newt ceased to be a proven failure because of #3? Explain.
President Bush has already failed us on #1 and #2. Why go with *another* proven failure?
