The little self-absorbed bastard had a duty to tell the police that it was not bomb. If nothing else, police officers had to go stand in traffic to shut down roadways. That is not without it's risks.

Just because the hippies don't understand it's wrong is not a reason to let them off the hook. Send him to jail where his cellmate can do his hair...and him.

Have you ever walked up to the bomb squad to tell them what they are disposing of is not a bomb?

How about just walking up to a cop and telling him, the guy he is putting handcuffs on is not the criminal?

How about just telling the cop you are just taking pictures of the party for the school newspaper?

How about just telling the teller at the DMV that the person they are denying a license to is actually a citizen, and your neighbor?

The time and place is in court. I have done the second three, and I will never again, trust me. Don't believe me? Go try any of the above. Now grow some dreadlocks and go tell them.

If anything he has every right to film their absurdity, it may come in handy during his time in kangaroo court.

In order to be a hoax, wouldn't he have had to have the intention for it looking like a bomb? Don't string this dumb hippie up just because the police made a mistake and over reacted. You give them far too much power. Do they blow up every box van double parked? Last I checked those look a lot more like terrorist bombs than this lite brite toy.

Come on! Pile on more BS please! If Police officers NEVER, EVER, stood in traffic, I could see your point. They do it all the time... it's their job.

The little self-absorbed bastard had a duty to tell the police that it was not bomb.

That was the first thing I thought, too. Then I remembered a time when I observed a police officer overreacting to something, because he had failed to be observant. I tried to volunteer information about what he had missed, and was threatened with arrest for my trouble.

Fortunately, when he became loud and aggressive, his superior heard and came over. I was able to provide the information to her, while he continued to threaten me. She got him out of the area, and defused the situation.

I was very shaken, since I had very nearly gotten arrested for trying to be a good citizen.

There are enough bad cops around to make even honest citizens want to avoid them whenever possible.
