Reagan must be rolling over in his grave at the site of the "Democrats Lite" who are leading the polls for 2008.

Reagan was the finest President and political figure of my lifetime, however lionizing him as a polically pure conservative does not do the man justice.
* He raised taxes
* He did not believe in banning abortion
* He ran up a deficit
* He broke the law and sold arms for hostages
No politician; no great politician can be an ideological purist...especially if he wants to accomplish anything.

Let me guess. You're peddling a RINO for President.

You're peddling a RINO for President.Nope. Romney, Hunter, Rudy, or Huckabee are all fine by me. I could vote for any of them. I'll decide when it gets closer to show time.
I'm peddling an end to the illusion of ideological purity.

If you thought so highly of Reagan, a simple Happy Birthday Mister President would've been appropriate. Guess for some folks thats asking too much.

I'm peddling an end to the illusion of ideological purity. Well, you sure don't understand Reagan then, or much about the kind of pure vision that launched our ship of state.

Don't waste your time with those who have no understanding of today's political process.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
Right. You're pushing the liberal Rudy Giuliani for the GOP nomination, and you say "we" ---- who oppose him ---- don't understand todays political process. You're living in the twilight zone man!
Reagan is turning over in his grave on his 96th B-day today, at how far the GOP has moved domestic policy leftward over the last 5-6 years. After 40 years of advancing conservatism in America, Reagan would be thoroughly disappointed with the arrogance and ignorance of some 21st century Republicans.

If Reagan was running today, the church ladies in the Republican Party would be whining that he isn't religious enough and that he was pro abortion because of his time as Governor of California.
To: Democratshavenobrains
Hope you didn't spend too much time thinking that post up. Its pure bunkum. A wasted effort.
If Reagan was running for President today, he would use his considerable skills, talents and abilities to advance his conservative agenda, charm folks at every campaign stop and convince people he was the best man for the job of POTUS. You need to look at Reagan's two landslide election victories to understand how popular Reagan really was with the people. Reagan united America behind common goals.
