Always remember, George's family arrived in a wild and wooly America where nearly all the men were tatooed from head to toe, and guys who went about unarmed were shortly dead. Polite gentlemen from London were loathe to leave the boat.I don't think that's true either, and as far as I know, tattoos didn't become a real feature of Western life until the British Navy visited Polynesia and took back some of the native customs with them.
American Indians were heavily tatooed ~ even then.
Remember this guy?

A lesson ~ the world didn't begin with the British.
