Many a tail-gunner have jumped out of bedroom windows too. I guess I date myself. Yes, when they automated the tail guns on the B-52's they cross trained a lot of the tail-gunners into other fields. They stuck out like a sore thumb though. They had made Msgt for the third time. Wings and ribbons all over the chest when other guys that served in the nonflying jobs only had a few ribbons.
