I was a watchstander in the Navy with rotating hours and had a career in photofinishing on all shifts, too. I preferred graveyard. When fatigue sat in, I'd get a natural rush around five in the morning that carried me all day if necessary.
Having to get up in the morning on day shifts killed me. I'm just not a morning person and arranged most of my life to avoid it.
I agree. I've worked many a one-hundred plus hour week and never thought of killing anyone. Lack of sleep was not a factor in this crime, especially as evidenced by the planing and preparation before the trip began.
