A NASA astronaut is charged with attacking her rival for another astronaut's attention early Monday at Orlando International Airport, the Orlando Sentinel has learned.
Lisa Marie Nowak drove from Texas to meet the 1 a.m. flight of a younger woman who had also been seeing the male astronaut Nowak pined for, according to Orlando police.
Nowak -- who was a mission specialist on a Discovery launch last summer -- was wearing a trench coat and wig and had a knife, BB pistol, rubber tubing and plastic bags, reports show. Once U.S. Air Force Capt. Colleen Shipman arrived, Nowak followed her to the airport's Blue Lot for long-term parking, tried to get into Shipman's car and doused her with pepper spray, according to reports.

"Does the term 'Ensign' ever pop up these days?"
That's Navyspeak. I'm not all that conversant in it...

You found that image, good work!

In both your cases, you were getting at least SOME sleep - on a semi-regular schedule, correct? Actually no. Many times after being at work more than a double shift my wife would laugh at my incoherent and delusional babbling before I got to sleep.
Having said that, I think the Captain would have had to be loosing sleep for many days before she started the trip to be in the condition to plan it. Even then, incoherent and delusional babbling does not beget crime.

I am certainly glad that the number of chicks browsing this thread is minimal. The FR feminazi contingent must be busy elsewhere tonight...they tend to congregate on divorce/evil wives threads to bash men.....now in Japan, the ******s know their place. I was born on the wrong continent....

Psychosis does. Yes, you might say a lunatic, to keep with the astral theme.

Yeah, and if this psycho chick had not been arrested, he might have wound up like him too!
The dude is clearly a player. You can see the 'swagger' in the photo - and there's an earlier shot that clearly shows that he is buffed up. No wonder that starry-eyed twenty-something ninny would have gone for him...

To me, Sleep Deprivation is at least as plausible as the speculation that her behavior was meth-induced.

From what I can gather so far, she's 30. But that may be subject to change if I find any conflicting info.

Just call me jaded and beyond the age when I cared what other people think....personally, given my experience with a chick similar to this one in every way (rank included), I presently have absolutely NO USE for women. And I like it that way. Its more peaceful around here and I have more time for my sculpting and conversing with friends and family. Not to mention 'Adult Swim' Japanese anime/manga on the Cartoon Network.
Life is good. :>)

Well, she'd better be HOT or at least interesting after causing all this trouble. ;>)

Well, "there are no rules against fraternizing among astronauts," the story says, lol.
The victim just looks to me like she would be involved in a *different* kind of affair, all I'm sayin'. Don't ask.
