"Astronauts are people too."

I do feel for her. There's nothing worse than a heartbreak.

Still, there is something refreshing about phony public figures falling flat on their glazed-iron faces.

She might be able to fly a space shuttle, but she don't know squat about weapons.

She should have been packing a Romulan disrupter.

An ordinary beeber would have sufficed.

NASA wants astronauts to be spokesmen and lobbyists.

In my world, she would have to visit schools to teach children about science- and being jilted for a younger woman.

Teach kids useful lessons.

Slings, you ain't here yet?

[Nowak ... was wearing a trench coat and wig and had a knife, BB pistol, and latex gloves in her car ... also diapers, which Nowak said she used so she wouldn't have to stop on the 1,000-mile drive.]

Behind every successful man stands a woman in a diaper?

It's the rubber tubing and plastic bags that get me.

Behind every successful man stands a woman criticizing his every move.

...so she wouldn't have to stop on the 1,000-mile drive.

And she didn't have to stop to get gas? Man, this Astro B. has left the gravitational pull of the earth.

I can only figure that was for binding - think of how the nurse straps your arm before drawing blood - in lieu of duct tape.

Anybody else have a theory on the her intentions with the tubing?

diapers, which Nowak said she used so she wouldn't have to stop on the 1,000-mile drive.

SOP for the Mercury Astronauts I thought.

You know, I've made the trip from central Texas to north central Florida a few times, and you can work it so that you visit the john when you refill with gas, which you have to do anyway. I think the gal seriously overplanned. And yes, she looks like meth has her in its grip.

Well to be fair, astronauts do wear diapers when they go into space. Perhaps once you go back to the diaper there is no turning back?

LOL! Well she was avoiding the biological pull toward the public toilets, anyway.

If she were doing crack or meth long enough to look like that, NASA and/or the Navy would have caught on and booted her out.

That's just the look of incredible desperation and bitter regret.
