Sorry. I guess I'm on Mars today. I thought the poster was talking about Prince sitting at a piano. D'oh.
Cmon guys, it was a comercial, learn to take a joke. It was funny, one of the best of the night, why bother complaining. What was gay, was Prince playing, now that was bad.
The only agenda I subscribe to. Good to see I'm not the only one in these parts.
They won't, but why have it on at all? If you believe that showing objectionable crap to kids is ok than you need to pull your head out of your a$$ and come up for air.
well, I thought the shadows from his guitar on that big tarp thing looked like a phalic symbol coming right out of his mid section. I don't think I was the only one to notice that. And the electric guitar sounded like hell to me. I'm not a rock fan anymore and I'm sure Prince is better that many but still raunchy in my opinion.
FYI - All along the watchtower was written by Bob Dylan.
"You are right about the lack of lip synching, when Prince pushed over his mike stand, you heard the pop when it hit the ground. His guitar work also appeared real."
Odd choice for the Superbowl, but the metrosexual crowd is taking over everywhere it seems. I'm a huge Prince fan, and when I heard he was doing the Superbowl I was like "Huh? Who?!!"
And, he was playing all right. I think the only time I've seen Prince lip sync was in videos - and half the time, he actually performed for them. Not one of his best guitar performances, his jam at the RNR Hall of Fame in 2004 REALLY shows what he can do.

Prince doesn't need to lype sinc, he's more than shown over the years he's got the goods to bring it, and then some. One of the best shows I ever saw was his show in Oakland on the Hit N' Run tour - the guy still more than has it, is a rock solid performer, and has a body of work anyone would kill to have a tenth of.
Yes, he's wierd, but if you can get past that, he's almost a genius at writing, playing, arranging, and producing, and has guitar chops for days.
If you want a wierd Prince story, get Kevin Smith's (Clerks) "An Evening With Kevin Smith", he's got a good one.
"Here's the Youtube link to Joel's performance. Quite nice IMO. I think what the guy with the wedgie assumed was Joel was the clip of Marlee Matlin doing sign language on the field during the song.
Man, people really need to get a life and quit getting bunched up."
Here's another:

Someone is either trolling, or seriously need to check themselves. That was one of the most respectful National Anthems I've seen in years. A color guard, a moment's silence for those killed recently, a shot of the troops in Iraq, and a simple, direct rendition without all the R&B caterwalls and whoops and stylings.
The ONLY criticisms I'd make is that they should have made the silence for the fallen troops as well.
And Marlee has held up quite well, I'd say. Always thought she was beautiful.
Also, although his father converted to Islam when Muhsin was 4, Muhsin Muhammad is actually a Christian. (For what it's worth, his wife is named Christa.)
I don't condone it, but unfortunately advertisers can't be expected to account for the 1% of the population that tends to be perpetually offended. If they tried to no ad would ever make the media.
"it doesn't alter my original sentiments."
Even though the "guy who was prancing" (your term) was a woman? ;)
There's a guy who "had" a bag of the bite size ones in his draw. He said he can't eat them now. They were flying around the office all day Monday. LOL.
"a bag of the bite size ones in his draw"
Are you from New England? You spell "drawer" the way people in Massachusetts pronounce it. :)
Oops, first post of the morning.
While the numbers aren't that lopsided, it is sad to see that there are many on this site who enjoy being offended just as much as their liberal counterparts.
No sane person actually believes that Mars was promoting the gay agenda with that commercial.
So go rent Brokeback Mountain for your kids, already.
