From your post: I do note with interest one other neat aside in Prof. Wegman's conclusions: He argues for increased employment of PhD level Statisticians on government funded climate studies!! As I have said before, "follow the money."
Considering that Wegman and his team worked pro bono, and that his quote (at the top of this post) simply states that statisticians should be included in the research teams if statistics are to be used in analyzing the data, I don't see Wegman's stand as a "follow the money" type of gambit. I see it similar to the demand that an electrician be paid for installing correcting all of the errors the amateur made in installing a new circuit breaker box.
in other words, I find his stand reasonable.
I did not mean for a moment to suggest otherwise. Indeed it baffles me how this type of "bet your economy" research can be done without trained statisticians. So the charge is not made against Wegman per se, but simply to remind everyone that there is a ton of money at stake here and that scientists are people too and are not simply a bunch of altruists. The pro bono work that Wegman did was great - but why should he not get paid while the fanatics are gewtting grants and tax dollars. Mine was a poor allusion to one of the few nuggets in Freakonomics.
Agreed.
have a great day, FRiend.
This socialist global warming movement is nearly unstoppable because the socialists are using it as a rallying cause and have closed their minds to anything else.
It has become the official religion of socialism with Al Gor as the socialist Messiah.
No amount of reason or hard science can stop religious zealots (or socialists).

Well, think it over. How the hell else is Swami Algore going to make a living? Vanderbilt Divinity School Flunkee, etc.
Shouldn't we all be Celebrating Global Warming??? after all if mankind is responsible and there is no return (too late) Didn't we successfully stop the next Ice Age from destroying all of mankind???
I haven't noticed any organization touting this line yet, or is it possible that the next Ice Age is just being postponed?, which is still a cause for celebration.
So, when this consensus agrees that there will never ever be another Ice Age on this Planet, we should all stand and celebrate our success for eliminating the possibility of another Ice Age. After all, does mankind have a better chance of survival during a warming period or an Ice Age??. As for myself I will take Warming anyday over freezing to Death.

The deniers just don't understand you believe in global warming because it is the right thing to do. /sarc

I merely posted Part 1 in the series. If any one of you would like to post the others, by all means, be my guest. I'd be happy to see you do it. I'd post all ten of them myself but have no time today and am actually hoping someone else will get impatient do it for me! :-)
