Thank you for your reply. I was in agreement with you from previous posts of yours on education being a local issue. I am also curious to know what A-G thinks of a presidential candidate referring to "evolution" as "science" and ID as "philosophy."

Is there something about Tom Tancredo that makes him less desirable to you as a candidate for the presidency? Looking through his voting record, and how various groups have rated him, I'm having a hard time not liking him, so I was curious if you did in fact prefer Newt Gingrich over Tancredo, and if so, why?

Mr. Gingrich's proposals seem ethereal; I don't know how he would implement some of them. He strikes me as being alot like George W. Bush in that way, very gung-ho with ideas and proposals that he may not be able to implement. That makes me nervous. With Tancredo there is an actual and recent voting record, and much more practical experience getting the job done, or so it seems to me. I haven't formed any preferences myself as yet, I am in the "exploratory stages" of their candidacies and others (:

Why you would chose to explore/promote Newt Gingrich (who has not announced) over other candidates is of interest to me because I highly value your opinion, and your reasonings would, quite honestly, become part of my own decision making process.

Since I'm telling all, having Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity promoting Newt for weeks now is a bit of a turn-off: I wonder what is afoot. I hold you in much higher regard; I have never distrusted your motives. I believe you truly want what is best for America and are not merely passing on recommendations from other sources.

Note to self: Duncan Hunter appears even more truly conservative than either Gingrich or Tancredo

Sorry, I don't know much about Tancredo. I know he's a top rated conservative by his voting record, but his number one issue as far as I can see is his stand on border control. I don't think that will be enough to get him into the race. I think his candidacy is designed to raise the issue of border security to a higher level in presidential politics. I can appreciate that.
