You are missing the point. This whole controversy surrounding Pius XII was the direct result of a play, "The Deuputy," which was written in the 1960s by a German Communist, Rudolph Hochhuth. The play, which was completely fictitious, portrayed Pius XII as a supporter of Hitler, but offered no historical proof or evidence whatsoever to support the charge. I am not at all suprised that the KGB was behind Hochhuth's authorship of the play. What is surprising and quite tragic is that so many people have so readily fallen for this smear campaign against Pius XII. Pope Pius XII was actually honored right after WWII for his role in saving Jews in Italy during the war. And, he did, in fact, save thousands of Jews from the Nazis when Germany occupied Italy.
Moreover, there is nothing you can say or write that would ever persuade me that Pius XII had any complicity with the Nazis. I wrote a research paper on Pius XII and the Jews when I was in graduate school, so, unlike you, I have actually researched primary and reputable secondary sources on this subject and I know what the truth is.
I am sick to hell of ignorant people wrongly bashing the Catholic Church for "allowing" the Holocaust to happen. As it turns out, they are the victims of an elaborate hoax that they were only too anxious to believe simply because it made the Church look bad.
No I didnt miss the point I just got sidetracked by name callers. The crisis in the church in Poland and evidence of collaberation with the communists is already proven.
