Romney Campaign Making MONDAY Facebook Push

Message from Stephen Smith (Boston, MA)

From: Stephen Smith (Boston, MA)

To: Name Removed

Subject: Governor Romney and Facebook Message: I’m Stephen Smith, Director of Online Communications for Romney for President Exploratory Committee.

First of all, I want to thank you for your work promoting Governor Romney and his potential candidacy at Facebook. No other Republican considering running for President in 2008 has anywhere near the level of organic support across the web and I consider that a tremendous resource as we look ahead. We are going to need you and others like you to be fully engaged with our communications and volunteer efforts.

On this Monday, February 5, we’ll be launching an official profile for Governor Romney on Facebook … and we’ll need your help to foster the profile’s rapid growth and viral spread across the Facebook community. With your help, I’m confident that we’ll meet our initial goal of 1,000 members within the first 24 hours...

Looks like we have our very own Mitt staff person here...does this make FR a political site?

Welcome to FR Mittreport. It may be that Mitt will be the best candidate standing for the 2008 elections, but you better hope that he can convince conservatives that he is pro gun, pro life and pro-border security. Otherwise he will not be very popular at this site.

Nevertheless, now is the time for the debate on the future of the GOP.

ohhhh, he is sooo good looking. All the organic women will love him. He is the only one who can beat Hitlery. We must beat Hitlery at all cost, even if we elect someone just as bad. As long as he calls himself a Republican than we've won....Yay Romey.

blah blah blah

There is no doubt that Romney is superior to Shrillary in every way. He seems like a patriot that wants to WIN the WOT. We cannot say that about any dem, other than Lieberman.

Nevertheless, I'm trying to push Hunter to the top tier.

Yep Duncan Hunter is a conservative. We cannot put our trust is someone who says one thing but means another.

We must elect someone who will stand tough on the WOT.

Duncan Hunter is a conservative.

Unless you count his views on free trade.

And his views on earmarks.

And his record of fiscal votes.

We must elect someone who will stand tough on the WOT.

That's true, but there are two problems with that:

1. They must not only have the will, but the political capital.

2. The key word in that sentence: "Elect". Someone going up in flames won't help us at all.

And somehow, I have trouble buying that a man who's been in congress for 28 years, the vast majority of his adult life, and has had exactly 1 tough race his whole life, is that guy.

I think the Romney campaign is one of the most net-savvy operations I've seen on the Republican side. It's creating lots of "buzz" with the younger crowd especially the College Republicans I've spoken with over the last couple months. Georgians for Romney

And he's smart, and personable, and can talk, and is good on T.V., and he can communicate a conservative message. You figure all that might be helpful in the general election?

"he can communicate a conservative message. You figure all that might be helpful in the general election?"

I'm more concerned with him actually BEING conservative as opposed to how well he pays lip service to conservative positions.

Sorry to disappoint… but I have no affiliation with Romney or his people in anyway.
