Enjoyed the Puppy Bowl and had watched that instead of Prince during the halftime. Loved the kittens halftime show. Way to go Animal Planet!

The best thing is that it does encourage people to adopt dogs and cats from the shelters via petfinder.com.

Pinging the HDTV list...

HDTV
(just for fun) pings
*For those of you who may not be interested in the Superbowl, or may be interested in better half time entertainment.

Puppy Bowl IV Will Air In HD-2008 (The broadcast will be the first ever in high-def for the Super Bowl annual.)

Animal Planet says the popular Puppy Bowl will air in High-Definition for the first time next month on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Puppy Bowl, which features the cutest puppies and kittens on the planet, has become a Super Bowl Sunday must-see for many viewers. This year's show will air from 3-6 p.m. ET on Feb. 3.

Legendary sports broadcaster Harry Kalas will do the "play-by-play."

The program mostly consists of the puppies chasing toys (and each other) in a small room set up as a mock football field.

This year's Puppy Bowl will feature a "half-time" show with several kittens at play.

“Puppy Bowl has become an annual viewer favorite, and in fact, we receive notes from viewers about how they try to incorporate Puppy Bowl into their Super Bowl activities,” said Animal Planet President Marjorie Kaplan “By luring in viewers with adorable puppies and cuddly kittens, our goal is not only to entertain them but to raise awareness about all of the wonderful animals in need of loving homes and to encourage them to look into pet adoption if they are looking to add a furry friend to their family.”

Many of the puppies in this year's show will come from a SPCA in suburban Washington, D.C.

*Sorry, LVD will not be able to report play by plays on the puppy bowl!
